Over Columbus weekend I had to attend meetings in Denver for work--while I was up there Heath, Layne and Adrienne (works with Heath) went on a hike. We had crazy cold/rain/ice that weekend. I was happy to spend the entire weekend in the hotel. They did get some great photos.
This past Friday I took the day off, went and had lunch with a friend and came home to a broken water heater!! That was great, but we were able to get a new one and Heath got it installed Saturday morning. I am thankful we were able to get one and then get it in so fast. And I am also thankful that Heath is able to do these things!!
So, with the bad comes the good--right. Friday evening after water heater shopping (no fun btw) we decided to eat dinner at Jason's Deli. We walked in and there were two young ladies standing in line going through the menu--they looked up to tell us to go ahead because they hadn't decided what they wanted (this would be those great Iowa manners). It was Jacki and Kelly Ballou. Now, that may mean nothing to most of you--but these two girls played for us in our club in Iowa. We were aware they lived here but hadn't connected with them. I guess it was time--so crazy. These things always get me--how you can do such random things in any specific day and then meet someone like this at the exact same time. We had dinner with them and did some catching up--it was great!!
Track is over and Layne had a very good season--it was fun to watch her do the field events. We will have a bit of a break from middle school sports--basketball is up next but Layne doesn't play. Volleyball will start in March--yep completely opposite seasons, can't wait until high school for that change.
The yard has been on hold for various reasons--time and weather and money. I am confident it will get done--starting was the hardest part.
I wish everyone a happy week.
I want to leave you with a great video of my brothe-in-law and nephew. They recently went to the boundry waters to camp. This is so cute and I watch it all the time.
